Emily Doherty – Does coeliac disease and endometriosis control your life or do you control it?

Coeliac disease affects 1 in 70 Australians and 80% of people don’t know they have it. Ouch.

To celebrate endometriosis awareness month and coeliac awareness week I chatted to Emily Doherty, a model, speechie, content creator, and Pilates instructor. She is a coeliac and endo warrior who has been through a lot in her health journey and is passionate about raising awareness.

Here’s a summary of what we spoke about:

  • What Emily was like growing up, and how she was always a type A personality
  • Her health journey from childhood until now
  • Her journey with ceoliac disease
  • Her battle to being diagnosed
  • How she discovered she has endo
  • How Emily manages her endo
  • Her advice for those in the same boat
  • Advice on how to manage unresolved symptoms
  • Tips to manage flare ups with a busy schedule
  • And more!

“My version of being healthy is being happy. You learn to deal and manage living with endo and coeliac disease.”
